Anwar Younas is a pastor and evangelist. Anwar has conducted crusades in Pakistan with as many as 20,000 people attending a single gathering. He has also been blessed with the opportunity to preach to both small and large gatherings in India, Australia, U.S.A, Sweden, Norway, and Germany and to other parts of the World. He ministers prophetically, corporately and personally as well as bringing forth the word of God with the power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit - God confirming His word with signs and wonders.
In October 1998, Anwar had a dramatic encounter with God. Anwar had entered into a time of fasting and pray when he received a fresh word from God to read the book of ‘Haggai’ as he was to be a ‘Haggai’ for today’s generation.
"This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty. 'The silver is mine and the gold is mine,' declares the LORD Almighty. 'The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty.” (Haggai 2.6 – 2.9 NIV)
Through these verses, Anwar felt that God was revealing to him a ‘temple’ not built of stones, but a forecast of a more glorious temple yet to be.
“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.” (Acts 17: 24 NIV)
God’s temple is a dwelling place. God is there. In the Old Testament God said, "Make me a Tabernacle. I’ll come and I’ll dwell with you there." And then, of course, the Tabernacle became the Temple in Solomon’s reign. And God moved from the Tabernacle into the Most Holy Place in the Temple. It was there he met with the people of Israel.
Then in the New Testament, when Jesus Christ came, he indicated that things were now going to change. He told his disciples that he would send his Holy Spirit who would not just reside in one physical location but in the hearts of his people. When you come to Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you. You become a temple for the Holy Spirit.
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?
If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.” (1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NIV)
The passion of Anwar’s life and ministry is to see others set free through the anointing of the Holy Spirit and to come into the reality of intimate relationship with Jesus. He believes and teaches that regardless of a person's background or past mistakes, God has a place for them and can help them on their path to enjoying everyday life.
